The Best Button makes it easier than ever to access and tether animals safely, while providing the flexibility to recirculate bile or add blood sampling.
In this basic study design, the bile is recirculated during the recovery period, but no replacement salts are given during the study. This simplified approach requires fewer supplies, but is only useful for short term collections. Low volume tubing increases the flow speed, and maximizes the siphon action to maintain a continuous bile flow for the duration of the collection.
This set up makes it possible to collect both blood and bile for a more complete ADME profile. Using CannuLock™ Catheter Access Buttons™ makes connections quick and clean, for speedy set-up and easy animal weighing. A Catheter Access Port™ replaces a standard pin on the blood collection line to reduce blood loss and improve catheter patency.
