Jackets can reduce rubbing, but connecting and disconnecting the animal can be challenging. We've created a helpful adapter to improve the process.

Adding a jacket adapter with a luer injection valve (LIV) simplifies the infusion process for jacketed rats. The adapter connects between the externalized catheter and the tether. It is held in place using Velcro so that the jacket and adapter can be securely fitted to the rat. This simple addition makes cleaning, connecting and disconnecting more manageable.
This set up makes it possible to simultaneously infuse solutions and collect blood for PK and TK parameters. The integrated luer injection valves (LIV) reduce blood loss and speed up the connection/disconnection process. Harnesses can be good for long term studies since the belly bands can be adjusted to fit throughout the course of the stud
